Avant Première Talk ‘The Virtual Konzerthaus – Opportunities for Digital Cultural Mediation’
Presented by Konzerthaus Berlin
In 2018 the Konzerthaus Berlin became the first concert hall in Germany to open a digital exhibition, including the augmented reality app “Konzerthaus Plus” and virtual reality glasses. The architecture and history of the concert hall, accompanied by classical music, are communicated in an interactive, innovative and user-friendly manner. This includes a 360° concert experience with VR glasses – the wearer can change his or her position within the orchestra via head control – as well as the world’s first interactive string quartet in AR. The exhibition is visited by about 10,000 guests monthly, with an additional 15,000 schoolchildren arriving each season during rehearsal visits.
This Avant Première Talk is held in the course of the Programme Focus "Innovation Day".
