9 FEBRUARY 2019: KICK-OFF DRINKS
Hosted by Unitel and Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Kick-Off Drinks provided Avant Première Participants with the perfect opportunity to get together with international representatives from performing arts + media. It furthermore delighted with a musical performance and a surprise appearance of the Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra.
10 FEBRUARY 2019: DAY 1 OF AVANT PREMIÈRE
The first day of Avant Première 2019 started with a relaxed Warm-Up Brunch, including an Info Session for first-time participants, followed by a full day of Screenings. The official Opening Ceremony in the evening featured a thought-provoking keynote speech about AI by Gerfried Stocker, Managing + Artistic Director at ARS Electronica and an awe-inspiring Special Screening of “Salome” in presence of the stunning soprano Asmik Grigorian.
11 FEBRUARY 2019: DAY 2 OF AVANT PREMIÈRE
The second day of Avant Première 2019 awaited with magnificent Market Screenings and a cutting-edge conference programme: Five intriguing performing arts documentary projects were presented Sunny Side of the Doc + IMZ Pitching Session and major international broadcasters shared their future programming + acquisition strategies for cultural content. The day culminated in a wonderful Special Screening in presence of the incomparable tenor Juan Diego Flórez.
12 FEBRUARY 2019: DAY 3 OF AVANT PREMIÈRE
The third day of Avant Première 2019 was dedicated to innovative technologies for film + arts in the insightful “Innovation Day”. Moreover, numerous exciting Market Screenings caught our attention. Eventually, the day ended with a feast for the senses with the Special Screening “Rameau: Hippolyte et Aricie by Ólafur Elíasson” to celebrate EuroArts Music’s 40th anniversary.
13 FEBRUARY 2019: DAY 4 OF AVANT PREMIÈRE
The fourth and final day of Avant Première 2019: Apart from rousing Market Screenings and the invaluable “speed dating” format “One-on-One Expert Session” to connect talent with decision makers from major buyers, the day was full with Specials for IMZ Members like the exclusive presentation on “Copyrights for music + dance on film” or the IMZ Member Session + General Assembly. Finally, the day and this year’s market wound-up with engaging networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere. And those that still did not have enough could join the VR Screening of “360° Figaro” in collaboration with the EFM European Film Market.
