Panel
‘What makes a great Pop Doc?’
As 20ft from Stardom wins the Oscar in 2014, and many other pop docs scooping awards across the world, this panel brings together award-winning pop doc filmmakers and producers to discuss the essential ingredients of the perfect music documentary. The panel will discuss their insights into working with the world’s most outstanding musicians, handling exclusive archive and share their experience of how to approach the defining stories of our popular music history. Performance is also a key ingredient of these films, so the panel will include a discussion of capturing live performance and creating performance for the camera. The session will include clips from the panel’s choice of the outstanding films of recent years.
