About the wines
In the honor of Daniel Serafin’s latest production "Turandot" at the open-air "Oper im Steinbruch St. Margarethen", the Esterházy winery has created two special wines to match Puccini's work. The red variety was realised with the colour-intensive and grape varieties Merlot, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, vinified to achieve a fruit-focused style and matured in small wooden barrels. The white wine, on the other hand, was to be the counterpart: A perfect opportunity for semi-aromatic grape varieties like Rivaner and Grüner Veltliner, which show a lot of fruit and freshness even with moderate alcohol. Giuseppe Palella provided the label design with two of his beautiful costume designs as watercolours.

About the Esterházy winery
Esterházy looks back on a centuries-old winemaking tradition in northern Burgenland. Today, the winery focuses on organic farming and the creation of an internationally acclaimed project wine line by tender pruning, manual harvesting and gentle vinification. In the cellar, Amphorae made of clay, ceramic, concrete, granite barrels, stainless steel and wooden barrels made of local Leithaberg oak are used. Esterházy produces balanced, precise and multi-layered wines with passion and know-how.
