Market Screening ‘Starstruck - Gene Kelly's love letter to ballet’

Presented by Scottish Ballet

Inspired by Gene Kelly’s iconic work in Hollywood, "Starstruck" is an immersive, theatrical experience where jazz meets ballet, and the stars align.
Gene Kelly’s original work, Pas de Dieux, created for the Paris Opera Ballet in 1960, has been lovingly restaged by Kelly’s widow, Patricia Ward Kelly, Scottish Ballet’s CEO/Artistic Director Christopher Hampson and Tony and Olivier Award-winning designer Lez Brotherston.
Combining live performance capture with cinematic filming techniques, Starstruck is directed by Oscar Sansom and set to Gershwin’s Concerto in F and Chopin’s Les Sylphide, recorded live by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
