EFM Screening ‘Grandbrothers – Live im Kölner Dom’

For Arte Concert/WDR, we transformed the "700th anniversary of the consecration of the choir of Cologne Cathedral" into a sublime audiovisual experience and the result is a Kubrick-esque  concert film. The Grandbrothers used a special manipulated grand piano to create an orchestral and ambient sound. This way they achieved a soundscape that does justice to the unique aura of the Cologne Cathedral. We recorded in multi-camera mode with digital cinema technology. Nevertheless: Through an extensive preproduction without an audience, a concert film with music video aesthetics was created rather than "just" an ordinary multi-camera recording.
