Join us for a visionary panel discussion titled "From Past to Future," featuring renowned speakers Laetitia Huberti (RTBF), Susannah Simons (Marquee TV), Olaf Maninger (Berlin Phil Media), Ernst Buchrucker (Unitel), and Axel Brüggemann. This session will provide a comprehensive review of the performing arts film scene, capturing invaluable insights from past years that are bound to shape the future of performing arts films. Dive into discussions on new digital working methods, programmatic adaptations, and evolving trends in financing and funding. The panel's goal is to gather diverse perspectives, offering a unique opportunity to explore the evolving landscape of the arts and media.

Ernst Buchrucker

Managing Director, Unitel

Ernst Buchrucker is a lawyer by training and has been working in the film industry since 2004. In 2010 he was appointed as the Managing Director of Unitel GmbH & Co. KG and as such he was responsible next to a few hundred productions for launching Classica as a worldwide Pay TV channel dedicated to Classical Music in more than 40 countries. Since 2017 he is member of the supervisory board of Fidelio, an SVOD service for Classical Music.

Laetitia Huberti

Managing Editor, La Premiere, Musiq3, Classic21, La Trois

Laetitia Huberti has been working in the cultural and public service media sectors for 20 years, and her career has taken her from the Performing Arts Center Flagey in Brussels to the Belgian Public RAdio & Television, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Since 2014, Laetitia joined RTBF where she managed the classical radio station Musiq’3 for 4 years, while actively contributing to the transformation of the organization towards a “public centric” model. In 2018, she became the Head of Editorial Strategy of a portfolio of thematic medias including 3 radios and 1 television: La Première, Musiq’3, Classic21 & La Trois-TV. Her current role is to define the vision and editorial strategy for these medias and lead the team.

Olaf Maninger

CEO, Berlin Phil Media

Olaf Maninger studied initially with János Starker and then continued his training with Boris Pergamenschikow. He joined the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1995, and was appointed principal cellist with the orchestra in 1996. In the years 1997 to 2002, Olaf Maninger was managing director of the Berliner Philharmoniker GbR. Since the Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation was set up in 2002, he has been a member of the board. In this capacity, he played a significant role in the development of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall. He has been general manager of Berlin Phil Media GmbH since 2008. Olaf Maninger is also one of the 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Susannah Simons

Director of Content, Marquee TV

Susannah Simons is Director of Content for Marquee TV, the Global Streaming platform for the performing arts, and is also responsible for the partnerships with arts organisations across Europe and the US. After a long career in broadcasting, mainly as a presenter with BBC Radio 4, Channel 4 and Classic FM, Susannah rejoined the BBC in 2003 as head of Policy and Outreach for BBC Radio and Music. She was previously Director of Partnerships for Canvas, a multi-channel network for the arts funded by Arts Council England, and Head of Development of The Space, the experimental BBC /Arts Council service launched in May 2012 to showcase screen-based art and build digital capacity within the arts sector.
