Opening Keynote by Axel Brüggemann: Be Brave-Music in Film in a Time of Transformation

AXEL BRÜGGEMANN
Author, TV-host and Director

Axel Brüggemann was born in Bremen in 1971. He is known for projects such as the series "Epochs of Music History" and the film "The Ring Fighter." Brüggemann has been nominated for the Grimmepreis and received the Bayerische Fernsehpreis for hosting and conceiving "Bayreuth die Show" (SKY). His film "Wagner, Bayreuth und der Rest der Welt" (ARD) was nominated for the German Documentary Film Prize. From 2001 to 2008, he worked as an editor and later as a text editor for Die Welt am Sonntag. He contributed to publications such as Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, STERN, Focus, and Jüdische Allgemeine. Brüggemann also collaborated with radio stations like BBC, Deutschlandfunk, and WDR, and he is involved with Klassik-Radio. He is the creator and host the weekly classical podcast "Alles klar, Klassik?" for the Bertelsmann Foundation. His "Klassik-Woche" at Crescendo is a prominent classical newsletter in the German-speaking region.
