Mauricio Alvarez-Mesa

Mauricio is the CEO and co-founder of Spin Digital, a Berlin-based company specialized in video compression and streaming for next-generation media. Mauricio is responsible for the general management, business development, industry initiatives and partnerships. He has been part of several international R&D projects related to video streaming, VR and immersive technologies, including the EU funded project Immersify.eu. His work and interests lie in the confluence of video coding, streaming, immersive media, and vision science with. cinema, art, and high technology businesses. Mauricio holds a PhD degree in Computing Engineering from UPC (Barcelona, Spain) and an Electrical Engineering degree from University of Antioquia (Medellin, Colombia).
