Wuppertal is not only a city of dance, but also of dance films. And not only since the Wim Wenders Oscar nominated 3D documentary film PINA (2011), that was created in cooperation with the dancers and staff of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and filmed in Wuppertal and its surrounds.
Therefore, IMZ International Music + Media Centre is pleased to present the dancescreen 2019 Pitching Session during the dancescreen 2019 + TANZRAUSCHEN Festival Wuppertal in partnership with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch and with artistic director Bettina Wagner-Bergelt as an Expert.
The exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of dance and film, a search for new formats, themes and presentation possibilities for future dance film productions is the impetus for this partnership.
Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch is one of the most international acclaimed dance companies in the world. It was founded in 1973 by choreographer, dancer and artistic director Pina Bausch, whose unique artistic work has defined its own genre and influenced generations of artists.
