IMZ Academy Director, Head of Digital Development, BBC Arts
In cooperation with the IMZ, Peter Maniura has conceived the course and will also lead it. As the Head of Digital Development for BBC Arts, he has launched two new online services for the Arts over the last three years. In 2014, Peter was the Launch Director of BBC Arts Online, a live and on-demand service that aggregates coverage and works extensively with partner organisations in the British arts sector. In 2012, he was the Curator of the new BBC/Arts Council England digital online arts service “The Space”, which promotes digital innovation and creativity across all art forms. Prior to this, Peter was the Head of Television Classical Music and Performance for the BBC from 1998-2012, and has pursued an extensive international career as a TV director and producer.
Director of External Affairs, Opera North
David Collins joined Opera North in 2016 as Director of External Affairs. His remit covers everything in the realm of marketing, communications and fundraising, a crucial part of which is the development of a digital strategy to take Opera North forward. In a crowded market place of live to cinema broadcast, the Company strives to find distinctive ways to create and distribute work digitally. Prior to joining Opera North David was Head of Marketing at the Royal Shakespeare Company where he helped launch their programme of cinema broadcasts, Live from Stratford-upon-Avon, and worked on digital projects that ranged from their current collaboration on live motion capture with Intel, to a real time social media performance on Google plus in collaboration with Google Labs and a production of Romeo & Juliet acted out in Twitter.
Project Leader of "The Opera Platform", Polish National Opera
After graduating from the Theatre Academy in Warsaw and postgraduate studies in Arts and Cultural Management at the Warsaw University, Agnieszka has been working in cultural institutions for 15 years, with a focus on theatre and music. Apart from leading “The Opera Platform” at the Polish National Opera, she has also been involved in the Young Artists Programme, the European Network of Opera Academies, the International Stanislaw Moniuszko Vocal competition and many other projects. Furthermore, she is also co-operating with the Literary Department, where she is taking care of editing as well as holding lectures about Polish composers for children. Agnieszka is also collaborating with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw, one of Poland’s major cultural institutions dedicated to preserving and promoting the country’s national music heritage. Additionally, she is a keen translator from German into Polish, having translated books, opera librettos and poetry for – among others – the Polish National Opera, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Opera in Poznań.
Head of Promotion & Marketing and Literary Department, Polish National Opera
Marcin completed a Direction of Photography programme, focusing on television production, at the Łódź Film School, as well as earning a degree in Journalism from the University of Warsaw. After experiences in the music and broadcasting industry as well as working in the field of Public Relations in various magazines, Marcin joined the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera – in 2009 . As curator of the Teatr Wielki's Opera Gallery since 2013, he has mounted over 30 exhibitions, attracting more than 25 thousand visitors a month. In his free time, Marcin produces television advertisements, music videos and multimedia exhibitions showcasing design, fashion and photography, including “Made in Poland” for the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin, Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt am Main, and Metro for Zachęta - the National Gallery of Art Warsaw. He devised a film on Gerhard Jürgen Blum-Kwiatkowski to accompany the exhibition “Side by Side. Poland - Germany. A 1000 years of Art and History” at the Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin.
Producer, Director and Writer at François Roussillon et Associés
In 1988 François founded the company François Roussillon et Associés, which produces musical programs. Since the late 90’s, with FRA Productions, he has made recordings of opera and ballet performances at the greatest French and international venues. He was responsible for video recordings at the Opéra National de Paris, the Opéra Comique, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Opera national de Lyon, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, the Royal Opera House, Madrid Teatro Real, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Dutch National Opera, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Theater and der Wien, and the Glyndebourne Festival. The exceptional catalogue of musical programs built up by FRA Productions over the last twenty years is distributed by FRA Distribution. In 2009 François founded FRA Musica to publish the operatic repertoire on DVD and Blu-ray, and three years later, FRA Cinéma, to bring the productions of the Opéra National de Paris live to cinemas.
