IMZ ACADEMY SESSION 2020: “What does ‘good’ look like for digital projects in the Performing Arts?”
3 April 2020
In the course of Karajan Music Tech Conference Online, Salzburg/Austria
2020 marked the beginning of a new partnership between the IMZ and Fedora, the European Platform supporting innovation in opera and ballet. For the first time a prize for digital projects took its place alongside Fedora’s prestigious prizes for opera, ballet and education, with the IMZ acting as expert partner in the competition process. Among all shortlisted projects, four digital projects were selected + announced and supported by crowfunding campaigns during the summer of 2020.
To mark this new initiative and to acknowledge the importance of digital innovation for the Performing Arts, Peter Maniura and Katharina Jeschke introduced the shortlisted projects and through them examined the crucial relationship between technological and creative innovation. They offered insights into what makes a really good creative collaboration and a successful audience experience. They reflected on potential guidelines and criteria for commissioning groundbreaking and excellent opera and ballet native digital projects.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Karajan Music Tech Conference took place online. Find out more about it at www.karajanmusictech.com
