Classical:NEXT Film Showcases 2026
In partnership with the IMZ International Music + Media Centre, the 2026 edition of Classical:NEXT will once again present Film Showcases. After the success of the first edition, this second round offers creators the chance to share their work, connect with an international community of classical and art music professionals, and explore new partnership opportunities beyond the film industry.
What we are looking for
Classical:NEXT will screen recently completed film productions that spotlight bold, original, and boundary-pushing projects in classical and art music. We are particularly interested in films that capture the work of artists and composers who are rethinking traditions, expanding the definition of the genre, or creating unexpected encounters between musical worlds. Eligible submissions (up to 30 minutes in length) include documentaries, stand-alone features, or concert recordings that:
- Explore a specific genre in depth
- Portray the artistic journey of an artist
- Explore the cultural and social impact of music
Why you should submit your production
Exclusively dedicated to classical and art music, Classical:NEXT is the largest international forum for professionals from all branches of the genre: the presenters, promoters and artist managers of the live sector, the recording industry with its labels, publishers and distributors, as well as media, export offices, classical music institutions and of course, the artists. Creators of selected film productions will have the chance to present their work at Classical:NEXT 2026, benefit from its promotional opportunities, participate in the conference, expo and showcase festival events, and connect with professionals from the music and media industries.
