Large sensor digital ‘cine’ cameras are both more accessible in terms of price and perceived to be higher quality than traditional TV cameras. They’re now used on the vast majority of drama, documentary and lifestyle shows. But for multi camera capture the benefits and methodologies aren’t so clear. This session at the benefits, challenges and opportunities of using cine camera in multi-camera performance capture.

Peter is an award-winning TV producer and director with over 25 years in music and arts broadcasting, formerly at the BBC and the EBU. He is also a digital media consultant and guest lecturer.
At the BBC, he led initiatives like BBC Arts Online and The Space, opening up archives and promoting digital innovation across festivals, events and performances in the arts.

Henning Brümmer
Director of Photography and Light Designer
The cinematographer Henning Brümmer is internationally known for his collaboration with Werner Herzog. Together they shot the documentary THE WHITE DIAMOND (New York Times: “Breathtakingly beautiful pictures”) and lately the concert film THE KILLERS: UNSTAGED in New York. After studying cinematography with Michael Ballhaus (ASC) in Hamburg, Henning Brümmer gained experience in productions crossing the genres, between feature film and documentary.
Jason Charters
Producer, Riddle Films
Jason Charters is a co-founder of Toronto-based Riddle Films, specialising in performing arts and cultural storytelling for broad audiences. Their work has been broadcast by CBC, PBS, ARTE, BBC, NHK and others, and shown at major festivals and institutions including TIFF, Sundance, Rotterdam and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Matt Parkin
Creative Director & CEO, Stagecast
Matt trained as a recording engineer and worked in radio, TV and CD production. He joined RCM in 2012, eventually managing IT, recording and digital learning. He left RCM in 2020 to run Stagecast, a specialist live streaming company.
Myriam Hoyer
Multi-Camera Director
Myriam Hoyer is an award-winning multi-camera director specialising in ballet and opera broadcasts. She studied piano and music theatre direction at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin. With over 90 films for Arte, Mezzo, ORF, and more, she crafts vibrant cinematic translations of performances. Since 2016, she has collaborated closely with choreographers Mats Ek (Utvandrarna) and John Neumeier (Beethoven Project, Ghost Light).
