The Tokyo Ballet – Maurice Béjart’s “M“

16 February 2026, 13:30 – 14:00 Screening Hall 2

MISHIMA Yukio was a giant in the postwar literary world in Japan. Based on his legacy and life, the ballet piece “M” was created by Maurice Bèjart, who had strong admiration for the author. “M” is said to stand for Mishima as well as the sea (Mer), transformation (Métamorphose), death (Mort) and others that embody the author’s writings. It is a notable stage offered in 2025, the 100th birthday anniversary of Mishima, by star dancers who put their hearts in the work that was choreographed exclusively for the Tokyo Ballet.
